Central PA Civil War Round Table: "The Night the War was Lost"

Lecture by Captain Jim Bloom (Ret.) In the lower Mississippi River, Fort Jackson and Fort St. Phillip provided a formidable defense of New Orleans defended by CSA General Mansfield Lovell.  In the Battle of New Orleans, April 24-25, 1862, 43 Union ships under the command of Union Admiral David G. Farragut would attempt to pass Forts Jackson and St. Phillip to capture the largest Confederate city.
