Richard Koontz Memorial Lecture Series: "A Military Nurse Looks Back to Southeast Asia circa 1970"

Commissioned a Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps following graduation from nursing school in 1965, Doris M. Wurster (Lt. Col., USAF Retired, Vietnam Veteran) will present personal perspectives on two different, but similar military nursing experiences—one Army and the other Air Force, circa late 1960’s, early 1970’s.  The first part will provide a peek into a typical “day in the life” of an Army nurse during and after the 1968 TET Offensive while stationed in Republic of Vietnam.  The second part will describe the typical duties of an Air Force flight nurse supporting Air Evacuation operations extending from the Philippines, across Southeast Asia up to the Korean peninsula.
