Join the Pennsylvania Military Museum at the Blair County African American Heritage Festival on Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, from 12PM-8PM. This community event will have craft vendors, food stations, entertainment, education, and more! The Pennsylvania Military Museum, the Blair County Historical Society, and the Blair County African American Heritage Project are teaming up to host the Festival’s Kids Corner. These family-friendly stations will discuss the societal contributions of African Americans, both locally and nationally, with children. The Pennsylvania Military Museum specifically will be discussing the impact of African Americans who severed in the United States Armed Forces. With coloring sheets, history games, and other educational activities, families will hopefully walk away with a better understanding of African American heritage. If kids complete each activity, they will be gifted a free swag bag full of activities and coloring utensils.
