Join the Pennsylvania Military Museum on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, from 10AM-4PM for Under the Canopy: A Vietnam War Experience. By examining this Cold War conflict, the public can reflect upon the importance of cultural understanding, the impacts of military force, and the potentials of unintended consequences. At 11AM, families can participate in the History Mystery Kid’s Program, where children can “meet” soldiers of the era. At 1PM, a historic weapons demonstration will showcase several pieces that were used during the conflict. Vietnam War veterans will be on-site to share their stories and to showcase their personal artifacts. This event is free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged. Museum merchandise will also be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Pennsylvania Military Museum. The Vietnam War Remembered: A Cemetery Lantern Tour will also take place at the Boalsburg Cemetery on Saturday, August 2, at 7PM.
